Homeschooling global citizens: How to find resources for exposing children to world cultures


Monica Olivera is a homeschooling mother of two and a freelance education writer. Her site, MommyMaestra, helps Hispanic parents get more involved in their children’s education by providing resources, tips, and opportunities. She is also the co-founder of Latinas for Latino Lit and the content creator of the Latino Children’s Summer Reading Program, the first national, online program designed specifically for Latino families.

Carla Curiel is a sought-out Latina mom speaker and initiator of Mundo Lanugo, a socially responsible and entertainment brand that encourages children to explore the richness of the Latino heritage and the Spanish language. She has been featured in Despierta América, Un Nuevo Día, Al Rojo Vivo, Huffvoces, NBCLatino, CNN en Español, amongst others. A graduate of Babson College, Carla resides in Miami with her husband and 4-year-old twin girls.
